On Tuesday, September 20, at 6:15 p.m., the WNCPA general meeting will feature a presentation by Mike Cola on gliders (or, more properly, “sailplanes“). We will meet at the usual location at the Lacy Griffin aviation center. Parking continues to be affected by construction; if no space is available in front of the building, use the spaces in the adjacent maintenance yard (gate 24) or in the viewing area down the road. The meal will feature sandwiches.
Our next fly-out lunch will be to Spartanburg Downtown Airport (SPA, 42 NM south-southeast of AVL) on Saturday September 24th. They have recently opened an on-field restaurant there; we’re eager to taste their offerings! If you are going and have an empty seat, please invite another member to tag along with you. Decisions about whether conditions are safe for the trip are always the responsibility of the pilot-in-command of the aircraft.
Kerney McNeil (828-231-6400) has a gently used Stratus 3 for sale for $500.00.
Here is our schedule for general meetings the rest of the year:
October: “My Career Journey” presented by Andra Vandenberg
November: “Aviation Weather” presented by WLOS meteorologist Meghan Danahey
December: Our annual holiday dinner at Bay Breeze on December 13th
