Our schedule of presentations has changed! Mike Everhart, the 2022 National Aviation Maintenance Technician of the Year, will be our featured speaker on Tuesday evening, October 18th. He will speak on aircraft maintenance, specifically on vacuum pumps and related systems.
As usual, we will meet for a light dinner and “hanger flying” at 6:15, with the presentations starting at about 7:00. We’ll be voting on the induction of two new board members before Mike’s presentation begins. We will meet at the usual location at the Lacy Griffin aviation center. Parking continues to be affected by construction; if no space is available in front of the building, use the spaces in the adjacent maintenance yard (gate 24) or in the viewing area down the road.
Our next fly-out lunch location is to Hickory airport (HKY, 59 miles East Northeast of AVL). If you are going and have an empty seat, please invite another member to tag along with you. Decisions about whether weather conditions are safe for the trip are always the responsibility of the pilot-in-command of the aircraft.
Here is our schedule for general meetings the rest of the year:
November: “Aviation Weather” presented by WLOS meteorologist Meghan Danahey
December: Our annual holiday dinner at Bay Breeze on December 13th
