If you have never encountered a dicey landing, a pucker-factor encounter with weather, or a “where the heck am I?” moment….well, you probably haven’t been flying enough! On Tuesday, February 18th, several members of our group will recall their “close encounters of the flying kind” to the group. Hopefully, these stories will help us all learn to avoid similar situations; hopefully, they won’t make us recoil in horror from the skies!
The meeting will follow our annual Chili Cook-off. Members who are skilled with this dish are encouraged to bring a Crock Pot full of their favorite recipe (or side dishes or deserts). If you are all thumbs in the kitchen, just bring your appetite.
Chili consumption begins at 6:15 in the Lacy Griffin aviation center, with the presentations to follow. The airport authority will also give their annual donation to the Educational Foundation that evening. If no parking space is available in front of the building, use the spaces in the adjacent maintenance yard (gate 24), in the viewing area down the road, or in the small lot catty-cornered to the Lacy Griffin center.
March’s presentation will be for WINGS credit; details to follow!
