It is a nightmare scenario. You are flying VFR peacefully at 7500 feet, grateful for the privilege of your pilot’s license. Suddenly, it becomes even more peaceful, as your noisy engine sputters to a stop. The only sounds remaining are wind noise and the throb of your suddenly pounding heart.
Aviate, navigate, communicate, and try to keep your underwear clean! If only you had attended that WNCPA presentation on piston aircraft engines and fuel systems, you might know how to diagnose the problem and make it noisy in the cockpit once again…
But wait, it isn’t too late! That presentation by Bill Pendergrass on Tuesday, March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day) is upcoming, and will contain the information you may need in that scary scenario. Bill is an engineer by profession and an EAA member by avocation, so he knows all about this stuff!
The Subway sandwich dinner will be served at 6:15 in the Lacy Griffin aviation center, with the presentation to follow. If no parking space is available in front of the building, we have free use of Lot B just north of our meeting place, in the viewing area down the road, or in the small lot catty-cornered to the Lacy Griffin center.
