On Tuesday, October 17th, at our next general meeting, Dr. Bob Busey will present “Pilots N Paws…and Other Animal Rescues.” The volunteer organization “Pilots N Paws” arranges rescue flights and overnight foster care for dogs, taking them from locations of overabundance to locations where adoptive doggy parents are waiting. Dr. Busey is a long-term member of this organization, and wants to let people know that he falls down a lot. He’ll talk about that topic in a later meeting.
The meeting begins at 6:15 with barbecue as our meal, followed by the presentation in the Lacy Griffin aviation center. If no parking space is available in front of the building, use the spaces in the adjacent maintenance yard (gate 24), in the viewing area down the road, or in the small lot catty-cornered to the Lacy Griffin center.
Our monthly Fly-In Lunch on Saturday, October 21st will take place at noon in Martinsville, Virginia (KMTV, Blue Ridge airport, 142 NM ENE of Asheville airport)
Our annual Christmas dinner at Bay Breeze will occur on December 12th, starting at about 5:30 and ending at about 9:30. Attendees are encouraged to email dmbolser@gmail.com to let Dave get a rough estimate of the crowd size. More info will be mailed to members later.
Finally, congratulations to Dr. Rufin Benton, who finished second place in his age group in the 5K race held at AVL on October 7th. Way to go, doc!
