On Tuesday, July 15th, WNCPA will host its annual barbecue picnic event. For those of you who may not be familiar with this tradition, we forgo our usual format in July each year in favor of barbecue and side dishes and lots and lots of “hangar flying” with our fellow aviators.Though we usually plead for members to bring side dishes, that is not necessary this time around: we have more than enough this time to put the entire organization into a food coma! 🙂
But wait, there’s more! We will be hosting the Chair of the Greater Asheville Airport Authority, Brad Galbraith, Vice Chair, Brit Lovein, President and CEO Lew Bleiweis, and Chief Operations Officer Lexi Farmer. We will be presenting them with a copy of the Educational Foundation’s resolution creating the “GARAA Annual Grant” in recognition of their long financial support and also an award for all the Authority has done to support and provide a home for general aviation. We anticipate that they will also talk about the future plans for the airport and for general aviation at the airport.
The meal is served at 6:15 in the Lacy Griffin aviation center. Free parking is now available in Lot B, just north of the center, as well as the spaces in front of the center and the small lot catty-cornered to that building.
