The WNCPA is a very active pilots association. In addition to our regular monthly meetings, we plan fly-outs each month to other local airports. We also plan at least one overnight fly-out per year to another further destination of aviation interest.
All flights are weather permitting, of course, and, as such, many often don’t happen. Click (here) for our weather policy for local fly-outs and our safety expecations for pilots.
Local Fly-outs. Usually we fly out for lunch on the the third Saturday of each month to airports located generally within an hour’s flight. Our fly-out schedule and specifics can be found on the home page of this website.
Overnight Fly-outs. More extended flying trips to aviation museums and other points of interest are arranged periodically by Association members. Most years, we plan an overnight trip for a weekend in May. Recent destinations have included the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Virginia, and the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola.
There’s no reason you have to wait for a scheduled fly-out to fly with your friends! If you’re hungry or you need cheap fuel off-field (or both!) and you want company, pick the date, time, and destination and then get the word out. Click (here) to go to our WNCPA Yahoo group to let folks know your plans. If you are not a member of our Yahoo group, this is a good reason to sign-up! Here’s a photo sampling of the fun we’ve had some of our more recent fly-outs. Won’t you join us at our next fly-out?
