Current Airfield Project Status

FROM MICHAEL REISMAN......

Subject: Asheville Regional Airport Project Status

Work on Phase IV of the Asheville Regional Airports Airfield Re-development
Project has unfortunately fallen behind due to a combination of issues
encountered by the contractor and the wet weather we have had over the
summer months.  As a result, the completion and commissioning of the new
permanent runway is not possible on the original schedule.  The south end of
Taxiway A has been re-opened and back taxiing has ceased.  Any continuing
work by the contractor this season will be limited to items that will not
impact taxi or flight operations, except for a handful of nighttime closures
as we complete work in the runway safety area.  As we renew our efforts to
complete the project, we will transmit the latest information to you.

Please see the attached updated report which includes a revised airfield
diagram with the current configuration.

Please take note on the diagram of the relocated runway hold position
markings and signs on Taxiway A1, the Taxiway A1 and A6 designations, and
the availability of Taxiway A2 for small aircraft run ups or holding
operations.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.
