WNC Pilots Association Board Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:03 p.m. by President Garry Hancock. Board Members Present:
President – Garry Hancock

Minutes of the last meeting: Approved after corrections.
The Treasurer’s Report: Approved. Checking: $8,763.46 (not including some of leaf Flight receipts)
Committee Reports
Door Prize: Elizabeth Henry presented the door prize inventory which is included at the
end of this report.
The motion was made and passed to change the official Association logo to the low wing logo as is in use on our web site and included at the end of this report. The consensus was to look into pricing of logo embroidery – Gil Carlson will get a quote from AB Emblem.
Leaf Flight Report: The flights took place on Friday and Saturday November 1st and 2nd in concurrence with the EAA B17 event. There were 30 flights for 72 passengers and about $1830 collected.
WNCPA Website: A motion was made and adopted to change the wording on the Web Site regarding the Purpose Statement.
Current Web Site text:
“The purpose of the WNCPA is to promote General Aviation through monthly meetings that emphasize flying safety, ongoing education related to flying and to provide opportunities to exchange information with flying enthusiasts across a wide spectrum of flying experience.”
The new text will be:
“The purpose of the WNCPA is to support General Aviation by promoting aviation safety, supporting aviation education, and further interest in flying. We hold monthly meetings, plan flying events, host social activities, and fund an education scholarship program.”
Christmas Dinner: Garry Hancock, Nancy Marstall, and Jan Jones, have met with a Biltmore Park Hilton representative and have agreed on a buffet menu which is printed at the end of this report. Dinner specifics:
Biltmore Park Hilton, 43 Town Square Blvd.
Ticket price $30
Invitations will be mailed.

New Business
Education Foundation: A motion was made and passed that raffle tickets will be sold at the Christmas Dinner for the benefit of the foundation. The price for one ticket will be $5 with a multiple ticket price incentives.
A motion was made and passed that Will Crook and Don Watson would be reappointed to a full term on the Foundation Board of Directors.
There was a request from the Foundation to form the wording of some necessary changes to the Foundation By-laws. The changes will be presented at a future time for WNCPA Board consideration.
New Member Applications: The membership application by Dillon Davis was approved.
Other Business: Darwin Jones discussed the Association Yahoo Group.
Food for November: Hotdogs and hamburgers.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:24 p.m.
